Event Description

The galactic center is the closest supermassive black hole and
has the largest angular size. It is the subject of intensive
observational study, including efforts to resolve the event
horizon using millimeter VLBI and frequent monitoring in the
infrared and X-ray, where it flares daily. I will describe state
of the art, fully relativistic models of the accreting, near-horizon
plasma in the galactic center, including the recent discovery of
quasi-periodic oscillations in numerical models.
