FIMPs : From clockwork to colliders

Event Description 

The lack of observation of a definitive WIMP dark matter candidate (via the freeze-out mechanism) has prompted an investigation of alternate scenarios that can account for the observed relic density. The freeze-in mechanism is such an attractive alternative; requiring an extremely feeble coupling between the dark matter candidate and the rest of the particles in the thermal bath of the early universe. Generating such a feeble coupling in specific models is a challenging task. I will discuss how the clockwork mechanism can generate such feeble interactions. Additionally, I will also discuss potential LHC signatures of simple freeze-in models.
