Research Interests

Capture and analysis of solar wind noble gases for the NASA Genesis Mission. Investigation of Xe-HL in meteoritic nano-diamonds by means of selective laser extraction. Study of xenon isotopic anomalies (CFF-Xe) in the natural nuclear reactor in Oklo. Origin of fission xenon in terrestrial armosphere. Application of Xenon isotopes for geo- and cosmo-chronology. Double beta decay of Ba and Te isotopes.

Professional History

Alex Meshik graduated from the Physics Department of St. Petersburg State University in Russia. He obtained his Ph.D. at the Vernadsky Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, in 1988. His thesis was devoted to Geochemistry, Geochronology and Nuclear Chemistry of Xenon and Krypton. Alex Meshik joined the Laboratory for Space Sciences at Washington University in 1996. Since 2006 he is Research Professor of Physics.
